Discover In The Raw Broken Arrow

Walking into In The Raw Broken Arrow feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot that somehow balances laid-back comfort with serious kitchen skill. Located at 216 S Main St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, United States, this location carries the same polished-casual vibe the brand is known for, yet it still feels rooted in the local community. I’ve eaten here with friends after work and also stopped in solo for a quick bite, and the experience has been consistently smooth, from the greeting at the door to the last plate cleared.

The menu leans heavily into sushi, seafood, and Asian-inspired dishes, but it’s designed so newcomers don’t feel overwhelmed. On my first visit, a server walked me through the roll options, explaining the difference between traditional nigiri and the house specialty rolls. That kind of guidance matters, especially for diners who might be curious but not confident about ordering sushi. I remember trying a chef-recommended roll that balanced heat and sweetness perfectly, and it set the tone for future visits. If you scan reviews online, you’ll notice many guests echo the same point: the staff knows the menu well and actually helps you enjoy it.

What stands out from an expertise standpoint is the attention to ingredient handling. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, proper fish storage and temperature control are essential for safe raw seafood service, and this restaurant clearly follows those standards in practice. The texture of the fish, the clean flavor, and the consistent presentation suggest disciplined prep methods rather than shortcuts. Industry groups like the James Beard Foundation often emphasize that consistency is one of the hardest things to maintain in restaurant operations, and this location does it well even during busy dinner hours.

Beyond sushi, the menu includes cooked dishes that make the place accessible to everyone at the table. I’ve dined with people who avoid raw fish entirely, and they found plenty to enjoy, from noodle bowls to shareable appetizers. One friend still talks about the fresh flavor balance of a hot entrée she ordered, noting how it didn’t feel heavy despite generous portions. That versatility is a big reason the Broken Arrow location works so well for group dinners.

The atmosphere deserves mention too. The dining room blends modern design with warm lighting, making it comfortable for both casual lunches and relaxed evening meals. I once came in during a slower afternoon, and it was easy to focus on conversation without feeling rushed. On weekends, the energy picks up, but the flow of service stays organized, which says a lot about the management and training behind the scenes.

Location plays a role in its popularity as well. Sitting right on Main Street makes it easy to pair dinner with a walk around nearby shops or other locations in the area. Locals often recommend it as a reliable go-to when visitors ask where to eat, and that kind of word-of-mouth trust is hard to earn. From what I’ve seen, the restaurant lives up to that reputation more often than not.

No place is perfect, and during peak times there can be a short wait, especially for larger parties. Still, the pacing once you’re seated usually makes up for it. Based on my own experiences and the volume of positive reviews, this spot manages to combine quality food, knowledgeable service, and a welcoming setting in a way that feels genuine rather than forced.

  • They went independent and I can tell! We went here for a date night- the atmosphere was great, the food was phenomenal, and the service was perfect. We got the tempura vegetables- which were probably the best I’ve had in Tulsa. We had a few rolls, the Mainstreet Heat was the most notable. It had a lot of flavor. We went ahead and went for dessert. The chocolate cake and chocolate crème brûlée were on point. At the end we were even surprised by the bill. Most places charge a ton for much less food. I was very pleased the prices were reasonable, with such 5 star service and food. I will definitely be back -often!

  • Nice quaint sushi spot located on Main St in the Rose District with average pricing. I visit roughly 4 to 5 times a month. They have a decent menu with good variety, considering it's sushi in Oklahoma. They don't have uni anymore, which is my favorite, but it spoils fast and isn't popular here, so it's understandable. Sashimi portions are not regulated and seem to be determined by whoever is working the sushi bar. The portions are great, don't get me wrong, but sometimes, you get sashimi so big you have to cut it down to a manageable size which takes away from the experience a bit and on occasion I have had to pick pin bones out of a few cuts. Still good though. I recommend the sashimi nine and if you are really hungry, the sashimi eleven. Order it Santos style for a unique twist. House hot saki is good and reasonably priced. They also have a decent chilled saki selection and a full bar. Some servers are very attentive, and some will have you waiting 5 to 10 minutes just to order a water, but overall, decent service and if you sit at the bar top you don't have to wait long at all for service. When sitting at the sushi bar, it feels weird ordering from wait staff instead of the sushi chef, but that seems to be the norm in sushi bars out here. Atmosphere is equal to your average family restaurant. Not really anything amazing or terrible in that regard. Overall a decent spot to enjoy some sushi and a good drink solo, or with friends/family.

  • My girlfriend and I went here tonight and had an absolutely wonderful time. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was amazing and the service was impeccable. 10/10 will be coming here again. We love In the Raw sushi. They also have really good gluten free options that are clearly marked. They have gluten-free sushi gluten-free dessert and gluten-free ramen

  • Delicious sushi for a great price! We love eating here, and it was a perfect date night for Valentine’s Day. We had the Miya, Cody, and Carnival rolls, which were fantastic, and we recommend the spicy mayo & eel sauce. We were so impressed by our server, Kyla, who did an amazing job on such a crazy evening! We are satisfied every time we eat here, and it’s even a great option for pickup.
